No one cares outside of a very small circle
That Yahya Hassan died last month aged 24
In Aarhus, Denmark. He wrote two hundreds poems
Full of rage expressed in caps, and no one
Cares either that he is now buried at the
Vestre Cementary, as if too soon buried
With his books, the first of which became the biggest
Bestseller in the history of Danish poetry –
Which is not saying much – and the next
Had just been published when he died.
« At school we don’t speak arabic,
At home we can’t speak danish », and
No one has translated his work in english.
