
I remember that Diane di Prima said when she came to San Francisco in the late sixties : « Refuse discourse in lieu of embracement ». And I cannot tell if that was a regret or an order, and maybe she spoke of embrasement instead of an embrace.
Perhaps she spoke of fire instead of speech, perhaps it was the fire next time and the next one and the one thereafter, because – perhaps – popular vote is just a way of burning to an oath and a way of being burned down to the last word.
