You thought you were packed on your way to work
In a comely suburban train without internet access,
But you are there, on this beach.
You thought you were hearing pros and cons
Articulated in a corporate matrix which looks like a cross,
But you are here, on this beach.
You thought votes suffice, taxes suffice, charity’s enough
And there’s no end to suffering even if one cared,
But you are here. On this beach.
You thought you were right enough in the way we all are,
And although there are challenges, the end is what matters,
But the end happens here, on this beach.
