The world hasn’t shrunk one bit
As you’re still inside it,
Telling me things you’ve seen
With license plates and stars.
I have been waking up wrong
For the past ten years,
With my eye on the exit.
There’s no getting away,
Or I’d be far gone already.
I don’t know what happens now.
You and I share a great loss,
But I am the one telling this
To a bathroom mirror
In the city where you lie.
